Last week, we got our first look at Netflix’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre, a sequel to Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic. Now, we’ve got our first teaser trailer (below) and a full synopsis for the film, which will see Leatherface, after nearly 50 years in hiding, returning to terrorise a group of idealistic young friends who accidentally disrupt his carefully shielded world in a remote Texas town.
In Texas Chainsaw Massacre, “Melody, her teenage sister Lila, and their friends Dante and Ruth head to the remote town of Harlow, Texas to start an idealistic new business venture. But their dream soon turns into a waking nightmare when they accidentally disrupt the home of Leatherface, the deranged serial killer whose blood-soaked legacy continues to haunt the area’s residents—including Sally Hardesty, the sole survivor of his infamous 1973 massacre who’s hell-bent on seeking revenge.”
Olwen Fouéré (Mandy) will take over the role of Sally, who was originally played by the late Marilyn Burns. Mark Burnham (Lowlife) will play Leatherface in the David Blue Garcia-directed film, which was written by Chris Thomas Devlin. The cast also includes Sarah Yarkin (Happy Death Day 2U), Elsie Fisher (Castle Rock), Jacob Latimore (The Maze Runner), and Nell Hudson (Outlander).
Texas Chainsaw Massacre slices into Netflix on February 18th, 2022. Check out the teaser trailer below!
