As you may be aware, Fede Alvarez (2013’s Evil Dead) is producing a reboot of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre for Legendary. But the film is already off to a rocky start: just one week into production in Bulgaria, directors Ryan and Andy Tohill (The Dig) have left the project, reportedly due to creative differences, and all footage shot by them will be scrapped.
David Blue Garcia (Tejano) is now helming the film, which will star Elsie Fisher (Castle Rock), Jacob Latimore (The Maze Runner), Sarah Yarkin (Happy Death Day 2U), and Moe Dunford (The Lodgers). Apparently, the plan is to kick off a new franchise, though whether that will pan out remains to be seen.
We’ll bring you more news from the project as we hear it.
