TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE GETTING MAKING-OF COMEDY

Posted on: May 24th, 2021

Back in 2013, you might have picked up a copy of a book called Chain Saw Confidential: How We Made the World’s Most Notorious Horror Movie, written by none other than Gunnar Hansen, the original Leatherface. The book explored the making of Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror masterpiece The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, which was an infamously hellish experience for everyone involved. And that hell will soon be put to film, because a dark comedy based on Hansen’s book is coming our way!

Deadline reports that the adaptation is one of the first projects to come out of a new partnership between Kirk Shaw’s Ambitious Entertainment and Yvette Yates Redick and Shaun Redick’s Impossible Dream Entertainment. The film will not be a documentary, but rather a narrative movie exploring “all the fun, horror, and craziness” that went into making The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

David Dubos adapted Chain Saw Confidential for the screen, with Robert Abramoff executive producing. Casting is expected to get underway soon.
