A trailer has been released for FOX’s TV adaptation of The Exorcist – the most terrifying film ever made, don’t you know? – and it looks surprisingly good. It’s atmospheric and quite terrifying in parts, but don’t get us wrong, there are a lot of clichéd horror moments in there, too. It certainly doesn’t look like it’s going to be the abomination most of us fear, but we really won’t know until it hits our screens and we can witness it for ourselves.
Check it out below. I enjoyed the awareness levels in the trailer, particularly the understanding that demons are metaphors. Hopefully this will be one of many ways that the TV show will deviate from the original masterpiece, but still retain the same level of shock and scary moments.
The Exorcist will air this autumn and it stars Geena Davis, Alfonso Herrera, Ben Daniels, Hannah Kasulka and Brianne Howey.
