“TERRIFIER” STAR DAVID HOWARD THORNTON TO HEAD “STEAMBOAT WILLIE” HORROR ADAPTION “SCREAMBOAT”

Posted on: June 22nd, 2024

Unquestionably, David Howard Thornton has become a horror icon through his portrayal of Art the Clown. The merciless villain of Damien Leone’s Terrifier series is lauded for his eerie smile and penchant for horrific murders.

So, it’s little surprise that Thornton has boarded another genre project, once again embodying the villain.

Thornton joins the cast of Steven LaMorte’s horror adaptation of Disney’s famed Steamboat Willie cartoon, the first on-screen appearance of Mickey Mouse. Screamboat is the latest in a glut of indie horror features to take advantage of Disney’s beloved characters lapsing into public domain.

Thornton will turn his psychotic skills to Willie, the project’s main antagonist, undoubtedly spilling a great deal of blood as he does so.

As per the movie’s official logline:
“‘Screamboat’ follows a group of New Yorkers on a late-night ferry ride that turns deadly when a mischievous mouse begins a rampage, targeting unsuspecting passengers. The unlikely crew must band together to thwart the murderous menace before their relaxing commute turns into a nightmare.”

Of his casting, Thornton had the following to say:
“I’m beyond excited to join this incredible cast and bring Steamboat Willie to life with a horror twist. Screamboat is going to be a horrific and hilarious big screen thrill ride that fans won’t want to miss.”

Whilst we don’t have a release date in place for Screamboat, we will next see Thornton in Terrifier 3, set to release October 11th 2024.

We’ll keep an eye on Screamboat and issue any major updates as soon as we have them.
