Could this be better than The Shallows? A new trailer has been unleashed for 47 Meters Down and it shows two women stranded at the bottom of the ocean with very little oxygen and a LOT of sharks. Sure, sharks probably would act this terrifying in real life, but for the sake of the genre we love the most, let’s imagine that they would.
Synopsis:
Two sisters, vacationing in Mexico, are trapped in a shark cage at the bottom of the ocean, with less than an hour of oxygen left and great white sharks circling nearby.
It looks extremely claustrophobic, tense and exciting, with extremely impressive special effects used to bring these sharks to life. The women encounter many close calls both inside their cage and out; posing the question of who survives. If either. Check out the trailer below.
47 Meters Down was directed by The Other Side of the Door helmer Johannes Roberts, and stars Mandy Moore (Southland Tales, American Dreamz), Claire Holt (The Vampire Diaries), Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket), Santiago Segura (Scream) and Yani Gellman (Jason X, Urban Legends: Final Cut).
47 Meters Down will be released in US cinemas from 16th June 2017. Hopefully a release date in the UK will follow shortly after.
