After 5 solid seasons, the zombie series Z Nation has been cancelled. Beginning back in 2014, Z Nation saw a group of people fighting to make it to California to a lab that awaited the blood of the last known survivor of the zombie apocalypse.
Z Nation was created by Craig Engler and Karl Schaefer and stars Russell Hodgkinson, Nat Zang and Keith Allan. It was cheesy comedy fun, but Z Nation had a welcome home in a space that is dominated by the serious undead action from The Walking Dead and its spin-off series Fear the Walking Dead.
When speaking about the cancellation, Asylum CEO and Executive producer David Michael Latt said:
“We were not renewed for a Season 6. We’re stopping at Season 5. We’re very sad. We’re also really grateful [for] the opportunities that we had. This is not the end of anything. This is just the beginning of a lot of things. We had a great time. We had a great time with Syfy.”
Titled The End of Everything, the final episode will air on 28th December.
