Fear has certainly never tasted this good. The new teaser for the retro horror The Ice Cream Truck has arrived and it drips with scary goodness. The film comes from director Megan Freels Johnston (Rebound) and is part of her endeavour to increase the amount of horror films by women, for women and about women. As she says herself, “My films are about what’s scary inside and outside the female psyche and the fine line that often separates the divide.”
Synopsis:
Mary’s husband gets relocated for work which allows her to move back to her suburban hometown. As Mary’s family ties up loose ends back home, she moves into their new house all alone and… waits. Although her familiar suburb is a constant reminder of her youth, something seems strange. A local Ice Cream Man with a love of nostalgia starts to kill some of her neighbours. Mary is torn between her mature instincts that something wrong and the distracting memories of her younger days.
Check out the trailer below, it has a kicking soundtrack and a very obvious air of menace shrouds the ironic happiness of this suburbia’s residents. The Ice Cream Truck has a release date slated for 2017 and it stars Deanna Russo, Emil Johnsen, John Redlinger and Sam Schweikert, Hilary Barraford and Bailey Anne Borders.
