“We’re being hunted…”
What do you get if you cross the slasher thrills of Friday the 13th with the survival horror of 127 Hours?
Why, you get Pitfall, of course!
This genre-bending tale has been quietly garnering hype for a while, but the release of the first trailer might just take things stratospheric.
In the clip, we meet a group of friends, planning to embark on an idyllic woodland hiking trip. There’s just one lingering issue; many people have gone missing in that same area. Soon, the group begins to fracture, as dangerous hunting traps known as pitfalls swallow them one-by-one.
It quickly becomes apparent that someone is out there in the woods watching them, determined to hunt each one down. For some, it’s already too late, and they must wait in their traps to meet their maker. For others, they must watch their every step in a gruelling fight for survival.
Part slasher and part survival thriller, Pitfall comes to us from filmmaker James Kondelik, based on a story of his creation. The script is co-authored by Victor Rose.
After winning unanimous praise at 2025’s Los Angeles Screamfest Film Festival, Pitfall will now open wide via Cineverse.
Pitfall stars Final Destination: Bloodlines actor Richard Harmon, alongside Alexandra Essoe, Marshall Williams, Jordan Claire Robbins, Matt Hamilton, and UFC champion Randy Couture.
Pitfall is set to hit theatres on May 29th 2026, and you can check out the nerve-shredding trailer below:
