You can either take this as good news; Yay! 3 more seasons of Stranger Things! Or, you can see it as a bad thing; Boo! Only 3 more seasons of Stranger Things!? We’re sitting in the middle, happy to learn there should be 2 more seasons after the soon-to-be-released second season, but sad to know the end is somewhat in sight. Did we really expect to see 12 seasons of Stranger Things? Surely not.
The news comes from brothers Matt and Ross Duffer’s interview with Vulture where they teased:
“I don’t know if we can justify something bad happening to them once a year. […] We’re thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out.”
They speak a lot of sense. The last thing we need is the series being rinsed for years to come and eventually becoming a dull, drawn-out show without any creativity.
The synopsis for Season 2 is as follows:
It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the Demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.
You can return to the Upside Down when Stranger Things Season 2 hits Netflix on 27th October.
