Stranger Things 3 will be Forced to do a Time Jump

Posted on: November 10th, 2017

Despite the ominous final shot in Stranger Things 2, the following season will be forced to do a time jump. Matt Duffer rightly explains that the actors in the show will age too much before the new season films, so it would be impossible for Stranger Things 3 to continue directly after the events of Stranger Things 2. In full, he says:
“Even if we wanted to hop into the action faster, we couldn’t. Our kids are ageing. We can only write and produce the show so fast. They’re going to be almost a year older by the time we start shooting season three. It provides certain challenges. You can’t start right after season two ended. It forces you to do a time jump.”

With most people having now finished Stranger Things 2, all we can do is wait until the next season. It will certainly be around before we know it!

*Spoilers follow*
A lot happened in part 2 – Eleven/Jane came back with a bang after heading out on a solo mission, Steve and Dustin made an unexpectedly awesome double act and new character Bob met a grisly end at the clutches of a Demogorgon. There is so much left to explore in this strange world and we’re excited to see what the Duffer Brothers and co. do next.
