The wait between Stranger Things and Stranger Things 2 was a little over a year, but David Harbour has said that we shouldn’t expect Part 3 until 2019. He said:
“One of the things that’s annoying for fans is that it takes us a long time to do them. Like, you probably won’t get [Season 3] until sometime in 2019. But also part of the thing is, like any good thing, they need time. And those guys work so hard. I mean, they just sit in their apartment and write for 12, 14 hours a day.”
Honestly, after the end of Season 2 I wasn’t particularly on the edge of my seat waiting for a follow-up. It was great, but I can’t help but think that the series’ charm has lessened since we returned to the Upside Down. How much more can we get from this series? What happens now?
Obviously, the Duffer Brothers need time to write the script for the follow-up and I’m sure we’d all prefer that we were given a worthwhile continuation, rather than something rushed and disappointing.
If you’re looking to fill the void after Stranger Things, then can I recommend Dark on Netflix? The similarities lie in the focus on missing children and general air of creepiness that resides over the town, but it’s a far more complicated, complex and unique take on missing persons.
Look out for Stranger Things 3 in 2019.
