Strand has acquired the North American rights to the Mexican horror The Untamed from director Amat Escalante (Los bastardos, Heli). The film follows a married couple who encounter a mysterious creature that becomes a source of pleasure and destruction.
Synopsis:
In [The Untamed], a couple in a troubled marriage locate a meteorite, initiating an encounter with a mysterious creature. Their lives are turned upside down by the discovery of the creature, which is a source of both pleasure and destruction.
You can check out the teaser trailer for the film below which shows a woman stepping out into a mist, but leaves much of what unravels to the audience’s imagination. It’s the perfect tease that relies more on atmosphere than storytelling to get its audience hooked and it certainly has us intrigued and excited for what happens.
The Untamed stars Kenny Johnston, Simone Bucio, Jesus Meza, Ruth Ramos and Eden Villavicencio and will be released in the USA imminently. Watch this space!
