A stunning and spooky alternate poster for The Other Side of the Door has been released and we think it’s rather wonderful. From artist Tom Hodge – who is no stranger to creating brilliant horror artwork – it is a classic take on the modern supernatural tale. Focusing on the horrors lurking behind the door, it captures the gothic and ghostly tone of the film in a simply and elegantly. We’d love to have a copy of it up at SCREAM Towers.
When speaking about his design Tom Hodge said, “I was charged with the task of exploring a more classic tone, to create designs that could convey a different visual take on the film. I was also given quite a free reign to go crazy and produced around sixteen concepts. Fox then selected three different designs to produce as final pieces. Film art, particularly horror (I’m a confirmed ghost story and horror film addict) I find to be one of the most creative and inspiring genres to work in. It is such a visually rich world that is unique and darkly creative unlike any other.”
Synopsis:
A family lives an idyllic existence abroad until a tragic accident takes the life of their young son. The inconsolable mother learns of an ancient ritual that will bring him back to say a final goodbye. She travels to an ancient temple, where a door serves as a mysterious portal between two worlds. But when she disobeys a sacred warning to never open that door, she upsets the balance between life and death.
We’re excited to see what lurks behind The Other Side of the Door; it has the potential to bring a lot of frights to the screen with its story grounded in a very interesting mythology. Be sure to catch The Other Side of the Door when it is released in the UK and USA on 4th March 2016.
