The new trailer for Berlin Syndrome will give you chills. It’s nerve-wracking and intense as it follows a night of passion leading to a lifetime of nightmares. When travelling in Berlin, an Australian photographer meets a local man and the two immediately fall for one another. However, when Clare is locked in Andi’s apartment she realises that he has no intention of ever letting her go.
Berlin Syndrome stars Teresa Palmer and Max Riemelt in the lead roles and comes from director Cate Shortland (Lore), who directed a screenplay written by Shaun Grant based on the novel by Melanie Joosten.
The trailer is great at showing the descent into Clare’s claustrophobic hell and does well at blending a spine-tingling and thoughtful atmosphere. This definitely looks like a contender for one of the best horror-thrillers of the year, so we can’t wait to get our hands on it is released by Vertical on 5th May 2017.
