Radar Pictures has secured the film rights to the world’s first audio-only mobile adventure game, Blindside. The production company plans to develop the project into a horror feature—and the Soska Sisters (American Mary, Rabid) are on board to write, direct, and produce.
Called Unseen, the film will centre around a Boston couple who wake up inexplicably blind in a world that’s menacingly different from the one they knew the night before. As they claw their way through this terrifying reality and struggle to hold onto their sanity, they sense the presence of a strange new species—one for which light is not a priority.
“We have long admired Radar and the tremendous work they do as industry titans and innovators,” the Soska Sisters said in a statement. “We are very excited and honoured to be partnering with this legendary team as they delve deeper into the horror genre and break new ground again. Unseen is a horror film experience completely unlike any other before it. This film will truly bring the fear of the unknown to life by putting the focus of storytelling on what you hear.”
Michael Napoliello, Maria Frisk, and Alex Power will produce the project for Radar, with Ted Field executive producing. A script is currently underway.
