Spider-Man spinoff Morbius was initially set to release last summer, but in light on the global health crisis, Sony pushed it back to March 2021. With the pandemic still in full swing, the film has since been bumped right out of the 2021 release schedule and will now hit theatres on January 21st, 2022.
Directed by Daniel Espinosa (Life), Morbius follows the titular Dr. Michael Morbius, a biochemist trying to cure himself of a rare blood disease. In the process, he inadvertently infects himself with a form of vampirism—satiating his bloodlust by preying on criminals.
Jared Leto (American Psycho, Urban Legend) stars in the film as Morbius. The cast also includes Matt Smith (His House), Adria Arjona (Good Omens), Jared Harris (The Terror), and Tyrese Gibson (Death Race).
