One of the horror films we’re most looking forward to this year is Relic, the debut feature of director and co-writer Natalie Erika James. To whet our appetite, IFC Films has released a creepy new clip (below) that suggests there might be something more sinister than rot in the walls…
In the film, Kay and her daughter Sam travel to their remote family home to look for Edna, Kay’s elderly mother, who has gone missing. When Edna mysteriously returns, she seems unwilling or unable to say where she’s been—and as her behaviour becomes increasingly volatile, Kay and Sam begin to suspect there’s an insidious presence in the house that’s taking control of her.
Emily Mortimer (Spectral, Shutter Island), Bella Heathcote (The Neon Demon, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies), and Robyn Nevin (The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions) star in Relic, which was co-written by Christian White. In the U.S., the film will release in drive-theatres on July 3rd ahead of its theatrical and Digital/VOD release on July 10th. A UK release is planned for October 5th.
