Themed around the legend of La Llorona, Skeletons in the Closet recently began production in Las Vegas, but all is not well on set. Deadline reports that Lance Kawas is no longer directing the project due to “creative differences.”
Asif Akbar has taken over directorial duties for the horror-thriller, which sees a desperate mother, haunted by a malevolent spirit since childhood, allowing herself to become possessed in order to save the life of her terminally ill daughter.
Meanwhile, new names have been added to the film’s cast, including Udo Kier (Blood for Dracula), Sally Kirkland (Anna), and Louis Mandylor (Rambo: Last Blood). They join the previously announced Terrence Dashon Howard (Crash), Cuba Gooding Jr, (American Horror Story), Clifton Powell (Deep Rising), and Valery M. Ortiz (Thriller).
