If you ever wondered what would have happened if Shaun’s story continued after Shaun of the Dead, then this may answer your questions. When talking to EW, Simon Pegg described his idea for From Dusk till Shaun, where Shaun and Ed travel to Scotland where have to face vampires. He says:
“I jokingly wrote a treatment for From Dusk Till Shaun, which was a sequel to Shaun of the Dead. It was all about Shaun and Ed having to go up to Edinburgh, or something. I don’t know. It was ridiculous. And it was a joke. It wasn’t like a serious pitch. Edgar thought it would be funny to do the film again, but with vampires.”
I don’t know about you, but this sounds like it could have been a pretty great follow-up. Sure it would, admittedly, be the same as the original – but with vampires – but, would that really be a bad thing?
With Edgar Wright already having said he’s working on a follow-up to Baby Driver, we’re sure that a sequel to Shaun of the Dead is not very high on his “to-do list”, but I’m sure there are many fans out there that’d love to see a sequel with zombies, vampires or even werewolves. Oh my.
