From writer-director Emily Hagins (Scare Package), horror-comedy Sorry About the Demon premieres exclusively on Shudder on January 19th—and the trailer is on the hunt for a sacrifice!
According to reports, Sorry About the Demon “follows the brokenhearted Will (Jon Michael Simpson) who, after being dumped by his girlfriend Amy (Paige Evans), is offered a massive house at a very low rent. The catch is that the restless spirit haunting the place needs a human sacrifice and the prior owners must find one or else their young daughter is toast.
“So, Will must figure out how to make things right with his ex-girlfriend AND banish the sacrifice-seeking demon residing in his house.”
Olivia Ducayen, Jeff McQuitty, and Sarah Cleveland also star in Sorry About the Demon. The film was produced by Aaron B. Koontz, Ashleigh Snead, and Cameron Burns for Paper Street Pictures.
“Working with Emily on Scare Package was such an eye-opening experience,” Aaron B. Koontz, CEO of Paper Street Pictures, said in a statement shared by Deadline. “Emily was one of the most prepared and thorough filmmakers I’d ever seen. And now, getting the chance to team yet again with Shudder and showcase Emily’s talents with this wonderful mix of John Hughes by way of James Wan, is such a delight that I can’t wait for audiences to discover.”
