It’s only a couple of days until Samara and her wretched curse returns to haunt those who watch her videotape. If you can’t wait until the film officially opens, then you can watch the opening scene right now below.
The scene shows Samara take down a plane full of people after a couple of passengers admit to watching the dreaded cursed videotape. It’s an exciting moment of spectacle that shows that Samara has stepped up her revenge game. We’ve never seen her kill this many people before; perhaps it’s a dream sequence?
Synopsis:
A young woman becomes worried about her boyfriend when he explores a dark subculture surrounding a mysterious videotape said to kill the watcher seven days after he has viewed it. She sacrifices herself to save her boyfriend and in doing so makes a horrifying discovery: there is a “movie within the movie” that no one has ever seen before…
Despite the scene’s obvious showcase of drama and sensation, there is still the embodiment of the Ring franchise’s classic green-blue colour palette, which gives Rings a fantastical and alien vibe. Even though Ring 2 was a massive disappointment, our hopes are high for Rings and we hope it restores audiences’ faith in Samara and her quest for vengeance.
Rings will be released on 3rd February 2017.
