Released in 2018, “Screenlife” thriller Searching is getting a sequel, and Sony has bumped up the release date. The film, which is called Missing, was previously slated to release on February 24th, 2023, but will now hit theatres on January 20th.
Storm Reid (The Invisible Man) and Nia Long (47 Meters Down: Uncaged) star in Missing, which was directed by Will Merrick and Nick Johnson. The cast also includes Joaquim de Almeida (Warrior Nun), Ken Leung (Old), Amy Landecker (Doctor Strange), Daniel Henney (The Wheel of Time), Megan Suri (Atypical), and Tim Griffin (The Gift).
Plot details for Missing remain under wraps, but the film will tell a different story than the original, which followed a father who attempts to find clues about his missing daughter’s whereabouts by breaking into her laptop. John Cho starred.
The script for Missing was written by Merrick and Johnson and was based on a story by Sev Ohanian and Aneesh Chaganty, who wrote the first film.
