Screen Gems has acquired the rights to Cosmetic, a body horror film based on an original idea by Malignant’s James Wan and Ingrid Bisu, Deadline reports.
Married filmmaking duo R.H. Norman and Micheline Pitt (Grummy) are attached to write and direct the picture. Pitt is no stranger to horror, having released several officially licensed horror clothing collections through her fashion brands Vixen and La Femme en Noir.
According to Deadline, “Cosmetic is set in the beauty industry, colliding the worlds of glamour and body horror in a supernatural tale of one girl’s deadly pursuit of perfection.” The project will be overseen for Screen Gems by Scott Strauss and Michael Bitar, with Wan and Michael Clear producing and Bisu and Judson Scott executive producing.
