Are you ready to Scream some more…?
With Ghostface currently dominating the box-office with the franchise record setting Scream VI, it seems both Spyglass Media and Paramount Pictures are eager to strike again whilst the iron is still hot.
Screen Geek reported March 6, the day of Scream VI’s glitzy Brooklyn premiere, that a seventh film has been greenlit. This undoubtedly speaks of everyone’s huge confidence in the sixth instalment, which is currently the world’s number one movie.
Details are sparse, but it is reported that the seventh Scream film will go before the cameras this year and may set a 2024 release date. Not only does this mirror the quick turnaround of Scream VI, but also Scream 2, released just one year after the record-breaking original.
It is currently unknown whether Radio Silence are set to helm another Ghostface spree, but both agreed a seventh entry was “possible.” Speaking at the Scream VI premiere, the duo confirmed they’d like to see the franchise continue, whether they were behind it or not.
Similarly, we do not know if stars Courteney Cox, Melissa Berrera and Jenna Ortega are open to a return, or if franchise face Neve Campbell could appear. With such sparse information, we will just have to wait and see how this one pans out,
Will Ghostface return in just one year’s time? If so, who will be in the crosshairs? We’ll keep you updated!
