Since the news broke that Neve Campbell is set to officially return for Scream 7, we’ve been on the lookout for any further titbits.
And… it appears we’ve found one.
Thanks to convention talent scout and Horror’s Hallowed Grounds host Sean Clark, we have an idea as to when Scream 7 may go before the cameras.
Speaking on The Thing with Two Heads podcast, Clark dropped into the conversation with his co-host that he had spoken to Campbell. Clark manages Campbell’s numerous convention appearances, alongside other high-profile stars, and considers the actress a friend. It was thanks to Clark that rumours of Campbell returning for a “secret cameo” in last year’s Scream VI were debunked.
“I did ask her, and she said she’s probably not going to be filming until the fall.”
Of course, this debunks the rumour that the film was heading rapidly before the cameras, as soon as June. However, there could be a multitude of reasons for the wait, chiefly getting the cast and script just right.
Given the very troubled production history Scream 7 has had up to this point, it is likely all involved will be taking great pains to ensure everything is perfect.
Given Campbell’s shoot window confirmation, it’s highly likely we won’t see Ghostface back in theatres until summer, or maybe even fall of 2025. However, we’re willing to wait as long as it takes to craft an epic Scream sequel.
Undoubtedly, we’ll have more updates soon.
