With Neil Burger’s (Limitless, The Illusionist) sci-fi thriller, VOYAGERS having now received an official 2nd July UK theatrical release date, Universal Pictures has launched a brand new official trailer featuring never-before-seen footage.
Penned by Burger and boasting an ensemble cast headed up by Tye Sheridan (The X-Men franchise), Lily-Rose Depp (Savage), Fionn Whitehead (Dunkirk), and Colin Farrell (The Gentlemen), Voyagers is set in a world where the future of the human race is at stake. A group of 30 young men and women who have been specifically bred and raised for intelligence and obedience are sent into deep space in search of a new inhabitable planet. Whilst on the 86-year-long voyage, disturbing secrets about the mission get out that trigger the crew’s most primitive instincts, instigating an insatiable hunger for power that spirals into compulsive paranoia and madness.
As you might already now, the film almost got an R-rating from the MPAA so it sounds like audiences are in for a shocking ride when VOYAGERS releases this 2 July in the UK. In the meanwhile, we’ll leave you with the trailer:
