SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR REUNITES WITH GHOSTFACE IN NEW AD CAMPAIGN

Posted on: September 20th, 2026

It’s been almost 30 years since Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar made a memorable cameo in 1997’s Scream 2.

Best known as a fearless vampire hunter, seeing Gellar chased and killed by Ghostface was quite jarring to audiences. Hence, the brief appearance has rightfully become an iconic horror moment.

Now, Gellar is paying homage to her Scream lineage with a brand-new advertising campaign.

In a new spooky spot for Angry Orchard Hard Ciders, Gellar is seen home alone on a stormy night.

Receiving a call from an unknown number, a familiar voice taunts Gellar, asking if she has anything to drink in her fridge…

Of course, she does! In her fridge is a can of Angry Orchard Hard Cider… Not just any kind, though. In Gellar’s fridge is Angry Orchard’s exclusive Halloween season collaboration with Scream. In fact, it’s that very can of cider that’s calling Gellar!

Now, if you’re thinking you’ve heard the name Angry Orchard before, you’d be right.

This is the same cider brand that partnered with Friday the 13th last year. The brand collaborated with Jason Universe and Mike P. Nelson to bring Jason Voorhees back to screens. The resultant short, Sweet Revenge, was the character’s first official appearance in fifteen years. Of course, this was all a very elaborate promo for Angry Orchard’s Hard Apple Cider.

Once again, they hit it out of the park with their promo game, collaborating with another huge horror property and recruiting a major star.

You can check out the new promo starring Sarah Michelle Gellar below… Why are we suddenly feeling thirsty?
