We now have a spooky new trailer to go with the new poster for Rings and it’s short and scarily sweet. At just over a minute long it doesn’t offer very much new footage, but there is the smart addition of clips from 2002’s The Ring. Perhaps the film is trying to erase the pain from the dire follow-up in 2005, which hopefully won’t put off audiences from seeing this new sequel.
Although our expectations are under control and we’re certainly not predicting Rings to be a horror game-changer that will change the genre landscape, we are hoping to go on a fun, entertaining and scary Samara-filled joyride. The footage has been fine, if nothing spectacular, but we’re intrigued to feel the fresh life that Rings can breathe into a franchise filled with supernatural potential.
Check out the trailer below to bask in the vengeance that Samara is so eager to reap.
