Samara does what she does best and crawls out a TV set in this new clip from Rings. The film, which is gearing up for its release next month, stars Matilda Lutz as Samara’s next victim when she is given 7 days to live after watching the infamous cursed videotape.
Synopsis:
A young woman becomes worried about her boyfriend when he explores a dark subculture surrounding a mysterious videotape said to kill the watcher seven days after he has viewed it. She sacrifices herself to save her boyfriend and in doing so makes a horrifying discovery: there is a “movie within the movie” that no one has ever seen before…
I would argue that the US remake of The Ring is more enjoyable than Japan’s original Ringu, but that’s just me. I’m full of the controversial opinions. The Ring 2, however, was a disaster so I’m hoping that Rings will restore our faith in the franchise and won’t put a firm end to Samara’s violent revenge rampage.
Rings comes from director F. Javier Gutierrez and additionally stars Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, Aimee Teegarden and Bonnie Morgan. The film will be released on 3rd February 2017.
