It’s been less than 4 months since Scream 7 tore up the box-office, and as we know, studios like to move quickly whilst a property is hot.
We know an eighth Scream instalment is already in the works, with sisters Nora and Lila Zuckerman writing the script. That’s all we know for sure…
However, a recently published release schedule has Scream fans all aflutter, as it may give away just when Scream 8 will hit screens… And it’s sooner than anyone anticipated.
According to the source, an “Untitled Paramount Horror Event Film” is scheduled to release on July 16th 2027.
Although unconfirmed, speculation is rife that this “Untitled Horror Event Film” is Scream 8.
This would means Scream 8 would debut only seventeen months after the seventh entry. So, is this a possibility?
It’s certainly possible, as 2023’s Scream VI debuted only fourteen months after 2022’s Scream.
However, the fact that we currently know so little about the eighth instalment makes this quick turnaround doubtful.
Whispers suggest that Neve Campbell is set to reprise her role as Sidney Prescott, and that a draft of the script exists. In fact, a persistent rumour tells us that a draft of the Zuckerman’s script has existed since November 2025, over three months before Scream 7 hit screens.
So, is Scream 8 coming next summer? If so, we expect some production updates, including cast announcements, soon.
