If you don’t follow Rob Zombie over on Instagram, you might have missed this little gem he shared earlier this week. The director posted a pic of an unused early poster for House of 1000 Corpses that was made back when Universal was still set to release the film. The studio later got cold feet, fearing the flick would receive an NC-17 rating, but its logo can still be seen on this early piece of marketing material.
“Pretty cool,” Zombie wrote on Instagram. “This has been packed away for about 19 years. Crazy.”
Interestingly, the poster prominently features Tiny, played by the late Matthew McGrory, who played a somewhat minor (though very memorable) character in the film, which rose to cult status after finally being released by Lionsgate in 2003. The poster is a pretty cool piece of horror memorabilia, so keep your fingers crossed that an official version may soon come our way.
