The long-awaited sequel to 2002’s The Ring 2 has been pushed back again. Originally the film was set to be released in October 2015, then April 2016, and now it’s settled on a 2016 Halloween release date this October 28th.
We don’t know a lot about this film yet and if the release date keeps getting pushed back, it’s not usually a very good sign. James Wan’s Demonic and Regression were pushed back and were eventually released to mediocre reviews. However, Paranormal Activity had a slippery slope of a release plan and was overall well received when it was released in 2007. The same can’t be said for the sequels.
It’s a shame we are going to have to wait a little longer to see what Samara gets up to next, but we’re keeping our positive hats on and hoping it’s purely after that horror-perfect Halloween release date. It’s the most popular time for audiences to venture out for horror, after all.
