When speaking to Fandango about the planned chronological order of his film series, director Ridley Scott may have let slip what the subtitle of the next film in the Alien franchise is to be. He said:
“It will go Prometheus, Awakening, Covenant… fairly integral where this colonisation ship is on the way….”
Does this mean the next addition is going to be Alien: Awakening? What’s even more interesting is the placement for this possible title, because it sits before Covenant. This could have been a blunder by Scott, but if his word is true then the film after Covenant will take place before Covenant, but after Prometheus. Confused yet? Us too.
Scott has not kept it a secret that he’s keen for many more Alien films and has stated that he plans to have 4 more films after Alien: Covenant. Phew, that’s a lot of Xenomorph action. Hopefully Covenant will be an improvement on the disappointing Prometheus and will not be another case of an epic trailer advertising a lacklustre film. Check out the Covenant trailer below; it does look extremely promising, so our fingers are tightly crossed.
Alien: Covenant will be released on 19th May and stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England and Benjamin Rigby.
