Ridley Scott seems to be sticking to his word as he makes a start on one of his many sequels to Alien: Covenant. Covenant hasn’t even hit cinemas yet, but Scott has confirmed that he is already writing the follow-up. “We’re writing [a sequel] now, as we speak. I’ll be filming that within 14 months.” Scott said when speaking to IGN.
The currently untitled sequel will begin filming next summer and if all goes well (both with the writing process and at Covenant’s box office) we could be seeing the next film as early as 2019.
We thought that Alien: Covenant was a great sequel with enough to please those who loved and loathed Scott’s Alien predecessor Prometheus. Michael Fassbender is a particular stand-out, but you’ll have to watch the film to see why. You can read our review here.
Alien: Covenant will be out in the UK from 12th May and out in the USA from 19th May 2017.
