Andres Muschietti’s upcoming feature adaptation of Stephen King’s classic 1986 novel IT is, for many of us, pretty much the most exciting upcoming horror project out there. Details continue to remain elusive, but we can now confirm the release date, which has been set for September 8th, 2017.
Filming in Toronto throughout the summer, It may still star original choice Will Poulter as aeonian demon clown Pennywise, Muschietti stating last year that “Will Poulter would be a great option. For me he is at the top of my list.”
“It’s being envisioned as two movies,” producer Roy Lee recently confirmed. “It is very close to the source material in one way but very different if you look at it as a literary piece of work. We’re taking it and making the movie from the point of view of the kids, and then making another movie from the point of view of the adults that could potentially then be cut together like the novel. But it’s gonna be a really fun way of making this movie.“
While no cast members have yet been confirmed, with the shoot on the horizon we can expect more news soon. We will of course keep you updated.
