It seems there is just no stopping Radio Silence…
The creative team behind the two most recent Scream movies look set to continue their reign as horrors newest heavyweights as they sign on to reimagine one of Universal Studios’ famed monster properties.
Although little is known about the project thus far, it has been confirmed that the project will be in the vein of the most recent Universal Monster updates, including 2020’s The Invisible Man and 2023’s Renfield.
Further exciting fans about the project is the adjoining announcement that Scream star Melissa Barrera will reunite with Radio Silence and the Project X team to star in the untitled project.
Barrera’s career has gone stratospheric following her success with In the Heights and the two most recent Scream sequels. This project will further add to Barrera’s growing number of horror credits, further cementing her as the scream queen of a new generation.
Radio Silence will be working from a script by Stephen Shields, featuring revisions by Scream scribe Guy Busick. Although very little is known about the project, we are aware filming will begin in June and likely last through August.
This does call into question if Radio Silence, Project X and Barrera will return for the as-yet-unannounced Scream 7. Fans are concerned this new venture means the team are departing the series, but confirmation of any news is still pending.
We will report any updates on both this mysterious project and Scream as they arise.
