We loved the first trailer for The Purge: Election Year and we equally love this clever new promo trailer, which declares you should be proud to purge. With the Americans getting ready for their own election, Universal has made the great decision to tie in with their own marketing for the sequel to 2014’s The Purge: Anarchy.
Check out the promo trailer below which hits all the important political considerations with mentions of family, being un-American, freedom, human rights and declaring purging as a “civic duty”. Hell, it’s made us want to Purge right now.
Synopsis:
It’s been two years since Leo Barnes (Frank Grillo) stopped himself from a regrettable act of revenge on Purge Night. Now serving as head of security for Senator Charlie Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell), his mission is to protect her in a run for president and survive the annual ritual that targets the poor and innocent. But when a betrayal forces them onto the streets of D.C. on the one night when no help is available, they must stay alive until dawn…or both be sacrificed for their sins against the state.
The Purge: Anarchy will, again, be directed by James DeMonaco and will hit our screens on 1st July 2016 in the USA and 15th July 2016 in the UK.
