Production has begun on Netflix’s first Danish series The Rain, which follows a group of survivors 6 years after a virus has wiped out most humans in Scandinavia. Focusing primarily on two siblings, the series will see them journeying to discover a new world.
The Rain comes from the creator of Denmark’s hit series Borgen, as well as Rita and Follow the Money. The series has been written by Janik Tai Mosholt and is to be produced by Miso Film with executive producers Jonas Allen and Peter Bose.
The cast includes Mikkel Boe Følsggard, Alba August, Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen, Lars Simonsen, Iben Hjejle, Lukas Løkken, Angela Bundalovic, Sonny Lindberg, Jessica Dinnage and Johannes Kuhnke.
With production underway, Netflix aims to have the series available globally in 2018.
