Not, unfortunately, based on the early-90s beat-em-up of the same name, Primal Rage promises a fresh take on the Bigfoot legend. This week we learned that the film will receive one-off screenings in nearly 350 US cinemas on February 27th at 7:00pm local time courtesy of Fathom Events and Blue Fox Entertainment.
The film, which features a couple coming face-to-face with a Bigfoot-type creature while on a supposedly relaxing getaway, is the directorial debut of SFX and makeup artist Patrick Magee, who has worked on the likes of Alien Vs Predator and Beyond Re-Animator. He also co-wrote the film with Jay Lee.
Synopsis:
A newly reunited young couple’s drive through the Pacific Northwest turns into a nightmare as they are forced to face nature, unsavory locals, and a monstrous creature, known to the Native Americans as Oh-Mah.
Starring in the film are newcomers Casey Gagliardi and Andrew Joseph Montomery, with Justin Rain (TV’s Defiance) and the more seasoned likes of Eloy Casados (White Men Can’t Jump, Frost/Nixon) and Marshal Hilton (The Bunnyman Massacre, Stressed to Kill).
Audiences who attend a screening will be treated to a Q&A and behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film with Magee and producer Angela Lee. Attendees will also receive a free commemorative mini-poster (while supplies last).
