They hunt to live. It lives to hunt.
The full trailer has arrived for Prey, which will be streaming on Disney+ in the UK and Hulu in the US from August 5th. A prequel to the Predator franchise set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, Prey tells the story of Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She’s been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.
Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) directed Prey, which was written by Patrick Aison (Treadstone). As part of the filmmakers’ commitment to providing an accurate portrayal of the Comanche, the film’s cast is made up almost entirely of Native and First Nations talent, including Amber Midthunder, who plays Naru, Stormee Kipp, Michelle Thrush, Julian Black Antelope, and newcomer Dakota Beavers.
