“PET SEMATARY” PREQUEL “BLOODLINES” RECEIVES R RATING

Posted on: September 15th, 2023

As we reported back in July, Paramount are not done yet with Stephen King’s Pet Sematary.” Rather unexpectedly, a prequel to the 2019 remake is on the way this October, titled Pet Sematary: Bloodlines. Now, we are very happy to report that this fourth entry keeps up the series tradition and has garnered a gnarly R rating!

The Paramount+ Original movie has earned its hard R by containing “horror, violence, gore and language.” Now, we don’t know about you, but that sounds like the perfect recipe for some undead animal hijinks to us.

The prequel is set to take us back to the town of Ludlow, Maine and is described as follows:

“In 1969, a young Jud Crandall has dreams of leaving his hometown of Ludlow, Maine behind, but soon discovers sinister secrets buried within and is forced to confront a dark family history that will forever keep him connected to Ludlow. Banding together, Jud and his childhood friends must fight an ancient evil that has gripped Ludlow since its founding, and once unearthed has the power to destroy everything in its path.”

Written and directed by first-time filmmaker Lindsey Anderson Beer, Bloodlines has amassed quite the cast including Pam Grier, Henry Thomas, David Duchovny, Jackson White and Natalie Alyn Lind.

The film is set to premiere October 6th on Paramount+ for all US, Canadian, Latin American, and Brazilian subscribers. October 7th will see Bloodlines release to all other territories.

We hope to have a trailer to show you soon!
