Posted on: June 23rd, 2018

The casting is underway on Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch’s (Starry Eyes) adaptation of Pet Sematary and it has now been announced who will play the roles of Ellie and Gage Creed. Jete Laurence (pictured right) has been cast in the role of Ellie and 3-year old twins Hugo and Lucas Lavoie will play Gage.

These roles were previously played by Miko Hughes and Blaze Berdahl in the 1989 adaptation directed by Mary Lambert.

Described by King as “the most frightening book I’ve ever written,” his 1983 novel tells the tale of Louis and Rachel Creed, who discover the re-animating properties of an Indian burial ground behind their new house. Louis decides to bring back their daughter Ellie’s cat after it is killed on the road, but when a horrible tragedy strikes the family, they find out that “sometimes, dead is better.”

Paramount has slated Pet Sematary to be released on 5th April 2019 and further stars Jason Clarke, John Lithgow and Amy Seimetz.
