Paramount’s Overlord Gets a Halloween Release Date

Posted on: June 20th, 2017

Paramount is becoming very mysterious when it comes to its follow-ups to Cloverfield and we recently speculated that the upcoming Overlord may be the fourth film in the Clover-verse, after Julius Onah’s (The Girl is in Trouble) God Particle.

There is no confirmation that Overlord is a sequel to Cloverfield, but coming from Bad Robot means that anything can be possible. The timing for the release – which is set for a Halloween-esque 26th October 2018, would make it pretty perfectly timed to follow God Particle, but again, it’s all speculation at this point and probably will be for the foreseeable future.

Synopsis:
On the eve of D-Day, a group of American paratroopers are dropped behind enemy lines to carry out a mission crucial to the invasion’s success, but as they approach their target, they begin to realise there is more going on in this Nazi-occupied village than a simple military operation. They find themselves fighting against supernatural forces, part of a Nazi experiment.

If this a Clover-verse feature, it’s certainly taking the franchise in an entirely new direction and that is mighty exciting, indeed. God Particle will be with us on 24th February 2017 and Overlord, as previously mentioned, will be released on 26th October 2018.
