PACO PLAZA’S VERONICA GETTING A PREQUEL

Netflix has officially announced a prequel to its 2018 horror movie Veronica, which was helmed by Paco Plaza, co-director of [REC].

The original film, which was widely heralded as one of the scariest films of the year, followed a woman whose attempts to bring back the spirit of her dead father put her younger brother at risk. According to TerrorActo, the prequel, called Sister Death, is set in post-war Spain and will follow Narcia, a young novice with supernatural powers who arrives to teach at an old convent that has been converted into a girls’ school. But as the days go by, strange and increasingly disturbing events lead her to unravel the terrible skein of secrets that surround the convent and lie in wait for its inhabitants…

Sister Death was written by Jorge Guerricaechevarria. The cast includes Consuelo Trujillo, Aria Bedmar, Almudena Amor, and Maru Valdivielso.
