Oscar Isaac is currently in talks to voice Gomez in Conrad Vernon’s (Sausage Party) upcoming animated feature The Addams Family. This is great news considering the internet has been tipping the star to play Gomez in a re-imagining for ages. Now we just have to see if Eva Green becomes tied to the voice role of Morticia Addams. Come on, MGM.
The cast is yet to be announced, but the release date is slated to be 9th October 2019.
Sausage Party was one of my least favourite films from last year; its crude and immature humour did absolutely nothing for me. Now, I love the Addams Family, so I’m hoping that Vernon’s depiction is miles away from the trash that was his last directorial feature.
The script for The Addams Family has been written by Corpse Bride and 9 scribe Pamela Pettler, so we expect the film to have that necessary dark edge which is suitable for the whole family.
