Lee Daniels (Precious) has been developing a horror movie over at Netflix which has officially been titled The Deliverance—and Omar Epps (Scream 2, Dracula 2000, Trick) has joined the cast!
New additions to the cast also include Demi Singleton (King Richard), Miss Lawrence (The United States vs. Billie Holiday), and Anthony B. Jenkins (Rowswell, New Mexico). They join the previously announced Andra Day (The United States vs. Billie Holiday), Glenn Close (Fatal Attraction), Mo’Nique (Precious), Aunjanue Ellis (Lovecraft Country), Caleb McLaughlin (Stranger Things), and Tasha Smith (Empire).
The Deliverance is based on a true story and is being described as an “exorcism thriller.” Variety reports that “Day plays Ebony, a mother who fights for her life, her faith, and the souls of her children after discovering their new home is haunted by a demonic presence.” The script was written by Daniels alongside David Coggeshall, Elijah Bynum, and Thomas Westfall.
