OLD-SCHOOL TERROR IS ABOUND IN FINAL “BEETLEJUICE, BEETLEJUICE” TRAILER

Posted on: May 25th, 2024

“When I was a teenager, a trickster demon terrorized our family, and tried to force me to marry him!”

It’s what you’ve all been waiting for, folks! A full-length trailer for Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice has finally dropped.

Whilst many thought the initial 20 second promo was enough, and that the mystery should be kept in full flow, Warner Bros. had other ideas. Now we have a much better look at what Tim Burton has in store for us.

Effortlessly capturing the vibe of his 1989 original, the trailer feels as though it has come just a few short months later, not 25 years.

Giving a full spot-light to Winona Ryder, we see that Lydia has grown up to be an over-protective mother. It is her mother’s overbearing attitude that causes Jenna Ortega’s Astrid to strike out and summon the titular demon.

The clip also gives us our first peeks at Justin Theroux, Willem Dafoe, and Monica Bellucci. Theroux appears to play the skittish husband of Ryder’s character, whilst Dafoe and Bellucci’s roles remain unclear. What is clear is that all three are hunting Keaton’s Beetlejuice, who is still very much obsessed with Lydia.

Looking like a practical effects extravaganza, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice appears to do what all good sequels do; it ups the ante. There is tremendous scale to everything we see here, including the expansive world of the dead, and the numerous forms Keaton opts to take.

Undoubtedly, this highly anticipated sequel will set the box-office on fire come September 6th, and we’re curious to see that final tally.
