It’s been a while since we’ve had an update on Radio Silence’s upcoming Mummy sequel.
However, fans are delighted to learn that one of the stars of 2026’s biggest horror movie is circling the project.
Fresh off the monumental success of Curry Barker’s Obsession, actor Michael Johnston is said to be in negotiations to join The Mummy 4.
Details of the role being offered to Johnston remain unknown, but speculations suggest he could step into the role of Alex O’Connell, the son of our series protagonists.
As we know, the reboot of the popular 2000’s horror-action franchise will bring back Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz as Rick and Eveyln O’Connell. Although Fraser has appeared in all three previous movies, Weisz opted not to participate in 2008’s The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Thus, the fourth instalment will mark her return to the role of Evelyn for the first time in over 25 years.
Actor John Hannah is also aboard the project, reprising his role as Jonathan, the bumbling brother to Weisz’s character.
Orphan: First Kill scribe David Coggeshall is penning the script. However, exact plot details remain a closely guarded secret.
However, Radio Silence have assured fans that they have planned a practical effects extravaganza.
Filming on the project is expected to commence later this month, with The Mummy 4 slated to hit screens on October 15th 2027.
