Shudder is bringing us a new instalment of the hit anthology franchise V/H/S just in time for Halloween! V/H/S/99 will release on Shudder in North America, the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand on October 20th.
In V/H/S/99, which is said to harken back to the final rock rock analogue days of VHS, while taking one giant leap forward into the hellish new millennium, a thirsty teenager’s home video leads to a series of horrifying revelations. Directors for the anthology include Maggie Levin (Into the Dark: My Valentine, Johannes Roberts (The Strangers: Prey at Night), Flying Lotus (Kuso), Tyler MacIntyre (Tragedy Girls), and Joseph and Vanessa Winter (Deadstream).
Last year’s V/H/S/94 broke Shudder records, so it’s no surprise that the horror streaming platform is venturing back into analogue territory.
“V/H/S/94 set a new bar for what is already a fantastic film franchise, featuring some of the best horror anthology segments in recent memory by an incredible lineup of filmmakers,” Craig Engler, Shudder’s General Manager, said in a statement. “We knew immediately that we wanted to continue the series, and what the producers have come up with in V/H/S/99 will be the biggest and best film yet in the series, and we can’t wait for Shudder members to see it.”
